Is what Britain is doing in Libya revenge for Gaddafi supplying the IRA?

It was said that Gaddafi was a strong sympathiser with the Dissident republicans who wanted and still want too unite Ireland as one and get rid of British influence and attack Northen Irish protestants who are loyal too the royal family, just like any average English person. Colonel Gaddafi was said too of supplied the Dissident republicans with lots of ammo and ex-soviet weapons. When ever we hear of a hand gun being used in Northen Ireland, do we have Gaddafi to thank? Do we have Gaddafi to thank for lots of lifes lost when the IRA carried out bombing campaign's in London and how they managed to get hold of explosives and such. I know not all of the weaponary came from Gaddafi, surely there was other ways of getting weapons.
