Why the heck is weed illegal again?

If you look at it from the standpoint that marijuana is "harmful" then you should Definitely be for outlawing cigs and alcohol....obviously cigs are more deadly then weed, so the old excuse the gov uses as it being too "harmful" is just bs because if they were worried bout that then a s*** load of things would be illegal. just wondering why weed has gotten such a bad social stigma and things like alcohol and cigs that are MUCH more devastating are socially acceptable...but GASP!!! light up a joint after a hard days work and you're a criminal. and yes people who sit around and smoke weed all day are abusing it, just like alcoholics and liquor. but if you are smart about it and do it in moderation i really dont see the harm in it. and the whole gateway drug argument is bs, the only reason there is any correlation in marijuana with further more dangerous drug use is because the buyer of the marijuana has to get it from illegal means from a drug dealer, drug deals usually sell a multitude of drugs and its easy to get sucked into other more drugs when the person you're getting your harmless weed from offers. If it wasn't so socially unacceptable then people wouldn't have to turn to shady drug dealers that can expose you to dangerous drugs. just my two cents.........and that's what really grinds my gears
