Did Bruce Lee fight as far as anyone knows?

He won a high school boxing touney and he won a few street fights, but as far as we know he did not fight world cl fighters his own size, So what evidence is there to believe that he was like Achilles or Samson? I don't doubt the brilliance of his system, but is there any evidence he was a fighter?
